The Right Staff
To run a good club, you need good staff and we have the best in the neighbourhood at least. Meet our team below.
- James Baker
Head Coach
- James has been a member of our team for 25 years this year. Catch his ear and he'll tell you all about
his triumph at the national slalom in 1989 where he won gold.
- John Bakewell
Coach
- John once wanted to know why we only ever paddle downstream, so we made him coach.
- Mary Holmes
Captain
- Mary has lead our team to victory on many occasions, she's also the only one that can drive the van
so we kinda have to make her captain. Those are the rules.
- Marshall Teddyton
Chairman
- Dispite Marshall sadly being born with a broken name, it hasn't stopped him from reaching the lofty heights of
Training Officer at our club. In his spare time, Marshall enjoys walking through the park and telling people war stories.
- Elaine Cahill
Secretary
- Nobody is really sure what a Secretary does, ESPECIALLY Elaine, but she pretends to count up money in the office
now and then, and HMRC hasn't given us a bill yet so nice one Elaine! She's also a fierce slalom racer and bakes the
most delicious brownies, we'd love to know what her recipe is.
- Sean O'Keeffe
Equipment Officer
- How do you say his name again? O'key... Kay.. fff. Nobody really knows, but he makes sure the boat things are out
when we need to do the racing thing so we'll keep calling him 'mate' and hope he doesn't catch on.
- John Schofield
Pro Skater
- We're not too sure what John is actually doing at the club since he's more interested in grinding across the
canoe shed than paddling in the water, but he seems to attact the younger members to the club so we keep him around.
