If you're interested in taking canoeing further, Canary Canoes currently offers all British Canoeing Certificates available in the UK. These qualifications will take you from hobbyist to coach, hopefully you'll even join our team when you're done! Speak to John or James for more details.
After earning your basic 2-star and Foundation Safety skills you can take part in a 4 day assessment which, when complete, will allow you to begin coaching. Requires supporting modules.
Following on from Level 1, this qualification requires 4 days training, however this also requires portfolio experience and a one day assessment on canoe, kayak and combonation of each. The qualification allows you to coach more devloped students. Requires supporting modules.
In order to go any further, you will need this endorsement. Prerequisites include 2 days training, logged experience and a day's assessment. Also requires Moderate Leadership qualification.
Become a white-water specialist! This advanced certificate requires you to know all there is about paddlesports and assesses you on several key areas: Core training, Water Leadership, Water Endorsement, Disicipline Specific Training, a 1 day skills assessment and portfolio experience, as well as having the Moderate Water Endorsement under your belt.
If you wish to go more specific with your qualification, this is for you. 2 days training, logged experience and a one day assessment are the only things between you and becoming an advanced coach. Requires Advanced Water Leadership and MWE.
